Why does sharp Increase in Fiber Optic Prices in China？

CMCC and China Telecom have placed huge volumes of orders with the top four fiber manufacturers,YOFC, Hengtong, ZTT, and FiberHome. These major customers are the largest clients of these four suppliers, so delivery delays are essentially impossible. The performance bonds involved are worth hundreds of millions RMB, which has resulted in significant delivery delays for other customers. We are also working internally to find solutions.

Meanwhile, some smaller manufacturers such as Hongan, FCJ, and Etern have almost all of their fiber capacity reserved by A2 fiber orders from Ukraine and Russia. At the same time, Brazil has imposed anti-dumping measures on Chinese optical fiber, so most shipments are routed through Indonesia and Vietnam for re-export, even though the fiber’s country of origin is still China.

In the United States, several major fiber manufacturers like Corning , OFS,  have already fully booked their production capacity through the end of 2026 due to strong domestic AI-driven demand.

In India, fiber manufacturers ，like STL ,HFCL, they are unable to supply because of China’s rare earth export controls so  they can not produce A2/A1 preforms in India mainland
